Miss Brill by Katherine Mansfield

This story takes place on a Sunday afternoon and it is hot. In this story the author talks about the protagonist who is Miss Brill an odd lady because she decides to wear a coat on a hot day. She goes out and it seems that some people make fun of her because of her clothing. Miss Brill is static character, she always does the same thing it seems as she describes that every Sunday she does the same things. The setting as I said before takes place on a Sunday and it takes place in a small town. I do not see a normal plot where there is a rising action, climax, or falling action. There is an introduction and denouement. The conflict is external because Miss. Brill always wants to know what is going on with other people's lives and when she cannot hear what they talk about or in one particular case where the couple she is observing does not speak, she gets upset. The Point of view is told in stream of consciousness and in third person, omniscient objective. The techniques the author used are similes and metaphors.

Reyna--
Are you finished with this entry? Remember that you need to also write a paragraph that tells your reaction or response. Your analysis so far is great!
